We are a group of people who are interested in the local history of Longworth, Kingston Bagpuize with Southmoor, and Hinton Waldrist. many of our meetings emphasise that our local history includes 'yesterday' - it's not just Kings and Queens, Prime Ministers and dates in the distant past. It's how people lived, worked and played, their lifestyles, homes, food supply and the life of their village.

PROGRAMME
For details see our website www.l-h-s.org.uk
We meet monthly, with indoor meetings in Longworth or Southmoor Village Hall or visits to local places of interest. We have two different kinds of open evenings to whom everyone is welcome. There are evenings with an invited speaker, who generally talks on a topic of very local interest, usually illustrating the talk with slides. We also have theme evenings hosted by members who have researched a local topic associated with the local villages (Kingston Bagpuize, Southmoor, Longworth and Hinton Waldrist). Often the material used is from our own growing archive of material - much of which has been gained from about two hundred interviews with local people. Just turn up. You will be made very welcome.
