Millennium Volunteers is a national initiative to encourage, support and recognise 16 to 24 year olds who volunteer their time for the benefit of others.
The idea behind MV is to let young people decide what they want to do in their own locality, building on their interests and connecting with local issues they really care about and to build on what you're into.
Since it started in 1999, thousands of people have joined MV and gained personally, increasing their confidence, giving them the sense of satisfaction that you get from helping others and contributing to their community.
In Oxfordshire the project has been managed since May 2000 by BTCV
Over 200 young people are now taking part in all sorts of activities and working towards their awards.
We have links to over 150 organisations in Oxfordshire, offering volunteer placements.
