Report of the Managing Trustees 2007

The North Moreton Charitable Trust is primarily for the relief of needy residents of North Moreton, with powers to offer allotments and for general charitable purposes for North Moreton. The Charity was created in 1993 by a Scheme which transferred to the trustees the North Moreton Parish Council’s previous responsibilities for allotments.

The Charity offers allotments at minimal rents, which are available on application to the Warden, Stuart Bell.
The Charity has five Managing Trustees, and the Parish Council is Custodian Trustee. Mr David Miles was re-elected as Chairman of the Managing Trustees; Mrs Julie Hutchence was nominated by the Parish Council and a replacement for Mr Barry Sadler who resigned during the year will be appointed shortly. Mr David Miles, Mr Stuart Bell (who acts as allotment warden) and Mr Keith Eaton are co-opted Trustees. The Clerk to the Trustees is Mrs Eleanor Haycock.
The Charity is always looking for opportunities to offer financial help in the village, and is grateful to hear of any areas to which the Charitity's funds might be directed.
The Charity’s assets held in trust are principally allotment lands and the sale proceeds of surplus land, and the capital is now invested for the long term in the Charities Official Investment Funds.
