7/10/01 Oxon 'A' 24 v Worcestershire 'A' 20 Captains report. A great performance!! Well played everyone, especially Pete Williams, with a lot on his mind and also Rob Sparkes who was brilliant. He deservidly got the Man of the Match Award. A team of diamond geezers!! Tim.
Oxon 'B' 15 v Worcestershire 'B' 29 Captains Report. Against a yet again well organised B team, with only 7 players we put up good resistance. Losing the first session 5-6 and winning 15 of the 28 games played, were the highlights. James Jordan was Man of the Match with 4 out of 4, just pipping Garwor Chan in the last session. Donley.
Oxon Ladies 28 v Worcs Ladies 16 Captains Report. An excellent result considering we gave them 4 frames through being one player short.. Congratulations to Sally Kent for winning 4 out of 4, and getting Lady of the Match. Well done to most of the other girls who got 3 out of 4. Hazel, Jana and Lorraine Owen are set to go to the England trials if they keep up their excellent playing, and with Oxon Ladies having a good chance of winning the league this year - theres everything to play for. Chris.
9/9/01 Oxon 'A' 18 v Herefordshire 'A' 26 Oxon 'B' 12 v Herefordshire 'B' 32 Oxon Ladies 33 v Herefordshire Ladies 11 12/8/01 Gloucestershire 'A' 34 v Oxon 'A' 10 Captains Report- Well played everyone but what a good team we played. You miss, you lose!!! Well done to Man of the Match Wayne Pryde who played great. I think we need to re-group and start from scratch. Come on lads, lets start winning!! Gloucestershire 'B' 30 v Oxon 'B' 14
Captains report- With the team understrength and the introduction of the new players we knew this was going to be an even tougher game against the top of the table side. However, after the first leg we found ourselves in the lead by 1 point. Unfortunately, we then lost the next 15 games and only 6 of the 10 players scored any points. three players won 3 out of 4, Man of the Match James Douglas, debutant Geoff Barker and new Captain Donley Romain.
Glos Ladies 31 v Oxon Ladies 13 Captains Report- With too many players short it was an uphill struggle from the start. For a change we started better than we ended. Glos have an excellent team this year and they out played us on the day. Well done to Sally Kent, Larraine Curtis and Lady of the Match Hazel Partlett who all won 3 out of 4.
10/6/01 Oxon 'A' 18 v Warwickshire 'A' 26 Beaten once again by a better team who were more consistant in their finishing. Well done to Peter Williams for getting Man of the Match. A good performance and we can for sure win the next game against Gloucestershire. Tim.
Oxon 'B' 22 v Warkwickshire 'B' 22 Great games by both teams. Warks led, then we did. The play was at a very high standard even in the very hot conditions, everyone working up a good sweat. Lee Challis was flying and so was Michael Hurst, both going for Man of the Match. Michael fell at the last hurdle and let it go to Lee, but the way he is playing it won't be long before he gets his just rewards. Everyone was in good form. We thought we might get thrashed but we kept our heads down and kept going. Thankyou team for your great effort. Ray.
Oxon Ladies 26 v Warwickshire Ladies 18 Captains Report- With another refereeing dispute, things got a bit hot under the collar with Warks, and no other heat was needed because of the lack of air conditioning. Although they were a couple of players short it was still a good result. Congratulations to Karen Brennan who got her first Lady of the Match after winning 4 out of 4, also well done to Hazel Partlett for winning 4. Lady of the Match - Karen Brennan.
13/5/01 Northants 'A' 29 v Oxon 'A' 15
With three regular players short, it was always going to be hard and it proved too much. Well done to Tim McKibbin who, although he onlly won two of his four frames, deserved his Man of the Match award. A bad result, but we lost to a better team. Next game lets kick ass!! Tim Williamson
Northants 'B' 35 v Oxon 'B' 9
We were struggling from the start. Everybody was hot through lack of windows and air conditioning. There was some great play by Lee Challis and Paul Stacey. Both of them won three out of four, but the Man of the Match trophy went to Lee Challis. Thankyou team for all your efforts. Ray Partlett
Northants Ladies 25 v Oxon ladies 19 A miserable day all round. What with thing or another Northants always seemed to have something to moan about! I don't think many people enjoyed the day as a whole, except our very own chip shop (Val Collins) who got 4 out of 4 and won Lady of the Match. Well done also to Jana and Sally for winning 3 out of 4. Chris.
22/4/01 Oxfordshire 'A' 20 v Buckinghamshire 'A' 24
Captains report - A good game, not great, but good. Far too many games thrown away by Oxon and a lot of players not firing on all cylinders. Bucks played well and took advantage! Well played to me for getting Man of the Match with four out of four. Tim Williamson.
Oxfordshire 'B' 25 v Buckinghamshire 'B' 19
We took the lead from the start, which we held right through to the end. Terry Camping started his first match by 7 balling his opponent. By the 3rd session we were leading 20-13 and that gave us a boost. There was some great play from James Douglas, Paul Stacey and Terry camping who were all on 3 out of 3, but in the last session Paul dropped a frame against a very strong opponent, but James and Terry went on to win theirs. Congratulations to you both for your efforts. Terry Camping went on to win Man of the Match. While watching my players I could see they had their hearts into the game with plenty of cheers and applauding which is nice to see. Thankyou lads for all the effort you put in. Well Done Team. Ray Partlett.
Oxon Ladies 33 v Buckinghamshire ladies 11
Best win of the season so far, and as we haven't lost one yet we're doing pretty well. Well done to Sally Kent, Lorraine Owen, Jana Marhounova and Hazel Partlett for winning four out of four. Also to myself who won four out of four and was lucky enough to get Lady of the Match. Keep it up girls!! Chris Jones.

4/3/01 Herefordshire 'A' 16 v Oxfordshire 'A' 28
Captains report - COME ON!!! A great game, very close until the third section when the boys started to rock!!! Well played Wayne Pryde (3 out of 4) and myself (4 out of 4). A good performance all round. Lets keep it going. Man of the Match - Tim Williamson. Tim Williamson.
Herefordshire 'B' 17 v Oxfordshire 'B' 27
What a very eventful day. We were all in high spirits, with morale running high, my team played their hearts out and what a wonderful result. We led from the word go and never looked back. Ben Higgs was on good form again, winning 3 of his 4 matches, but Rob Sparkes was playing very well too and was awarded Man of the Match. We went on to win 27-17. I am very proud of my team and long may it reign. Ray Partlett.
Herefordshire Ladies 19 v Oxfordshire Ladies 25
Lady of the Match-Denise Gargate.
11/2/01 OXFORDSHIRE 'A' 20 V GLOUCESTERSHIRE 'A' 24
Captains Report- A very strong team from Gloucestershire turned up with turncoat Julian Wilde and Welsh International Craig Reynolds both playing. Rennoe winning all 4 frames as expected of him. Every Oxon player produced some great games but unlucky runs of the balls didn't help the 4 zip players. Dave Lewis winning all his 4 games gave him the Man of the Match trophy for Oxon. 20-24 was not a bad result but a win would be nice!! Tim Williamson.
OXFORDSHIRE 'B' 20 V GLOUCESTERSHIRE 'B' 24
Captains Report- I had 8 new players in the team and they put up a hell of a fight, I'm very proud of them. We lead the 1st section 7-4 then Glos won the 2nd 8-3 then it went neck and neck almost til the end. But we lost 20-24. Two of my players were outstanding. Ben Higgs who won all his 4 matches and was awarded man of the match, the other was Pete Armitage who won 3 out of 4, we had great fun and both sides behaved very well and polite. Ray Partlett.
OXONLADIES 22 V GLOUCESTERSHIRE LADIES 22
Again this was a very close match right up until the end. We won the first two sessions 6-5, and lost the last two 6-5. We needed to win the last three frames to draw - which we did! Well done to Lorraine Owen for getting four out of four. Many congratulations to Jana Marhounova who won four out of four, and potted an amazing black to keep us in the game, who received Lady of the Match for the first time. Chris Jones. |
