The 2009 OCPA Men's County Trials will be on Sunday January 18th 2009 at: Witney Snooker Club Eagle Industrial Estate Witney OX28 4YR 12:30 Start The Ladies Trials will be on Sunday January 25th 2009 at 12 noon, venue as above. Any questions email Chris@oxonpool.com Oxfordshire County Pool Association are always on the look out for top committed players for their County Pool Teams. At the moment, our players come from in number of leagues across Oxfordshire. Playing county pool is the only way that an ordinary pool player can get a chance to play for England. The format is simple. we have 3 teams, Mens A, B and Ladies. Each team has 11 players (plus reserves). Each player will play 4 members of the opposing team over one frame. The rules we play are World Rules, which can be seen used at the World Championships. (Don't worry if you don't know these rules as they are easy to pick up). Each player gains points for the number of frames they win. The A Team and Ladies get 3 points per frame won and the B team players get 2 points. These are all added up and you are then given a ranking in the Regional lists. The top 8 players on this list get to try out for the England teams. In recent years Oxon players Tim Williamsom and Hazel Dabrowski have both played for England. So if you are serious about pool, why not give County pool a go and come to the trials?
