Level 1 – Basic Obedience – (7pm – 8pm): In this class you will learn the basics such as Heelwork, Sits, Downs and on lead recalls. Methods such as sit and walk round and sit and walk out are used to teach your dog that when it is told to sit it should stay sat until told to move without the use of the word “Stay”. You will also learn how to inform your dog that a behaviour is incorrect and more importantly learn how to praise your dog at the precise moment it is required. You will quickly observe that this class tends to involve the owner learning the new tricks. When you and your dog have mastered the basics you will graduate to level 2. |
Level 2 – Advanced Obedience – 8pm – 9pm: In this Class you will build on what you learnt in basic obedience until you are doing off lead heelwork, off lead recalls, A recalls, Retrieves, Send Aways, Finishes… the list goes on. We currently have 3 dogs in this class who regularly compete and do well in obedience competitions, one of which, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier has his Gold Good Citizen Award. All of the others that attend do it for fun and to bond with their dogs. |

Fun agility replaces level two obedience on the last Monday of each Month between 8pm and 9pm. Every standard item in a full size agility course is represented and laid out in a fun to do course. Apart from being a great way to have fun with your dog, agility has other multiple benefits such as improving your dog’s obedience/behaviour and helping to build on the bond you have. Agility burns off excess energy, creates focus and is a great form of exercise for both dog and owner.
Please note: Dogs under the age of 18 months old are welcome to attend but will not be allowed to attempt any of the jump based equipment due to the damage it can cause in a growing dog. They are more than welcome to use all the other pieces of equipment such as the Catwalk, Tunnels, Seesaw, Weaving Poles etc. |
