'A Dinner Engagement' & 'The Bear'
The Bear (Paul Dehn adapted from Chekov):
A Dinner Engagement (Paul Dehn):
Lord and Lady Dunmow are in their kitchen making preparations for a dinner party, the grocer's boy comes to the back door with provisions but his demands for payment are dismissed. Mrs Kneebone arrives to help with the preparations apologising for coming to the front door rather than the back door because the front door is so small. Susan, the Dunmow's daughter is keen to help in the kitchen - but they insist that she should be making herself ready for the Grand Duchess of Monteblanco and her son; HRH Prince Philippe. Susan re-appears in a temper, but rushes away as smoke trickles from the oven door and amidst the confusion the Grand Duchess and Prince Philippe arrive in the kitchen!........
The Grand Duchess declares that she has never seen a kitchen before and presents the Dunmows with some pate from Monteblanco. She is taken on a tour of the back garden, while Prince Phillipe remains in the kitchen and meets and falls in love with Susan. The Grand Duchess re-appears and insists on immediate betrothal for the happy couple.

Annabel Molyneaux
 | Annabel enjoys perfoming song recitals, often specifically designed to relate to the history of the concert site.
She also loves singing oratorio (recently including Rossini Petite Messe Solonelle and Stabat Mater, Durufle Requiem, Messiah, Bach Christmas Oratorio and Magnificat.)
Opera with a challenge: outdoors, in the corner of school halls, busked, shows compiled for special purposes etc seems quite irresistable as well.... |
