Holidays with the Radley Retirement Group
 | Our holiday in Llandudno in May 2012 was thoroughly enjoyable, varied and action-packed.
The journey to Wales went very smoothly, with a stop at Llangollen for lunch. We visited Beaumaris and LlanfairPG in Anglesey on the first day, then on the second day we went up Snowdon on the train. The views were stunning up as far as Clogwyn. We could see that there was cloud on the summit, but I don’t think that we were expecting a snowstorm and strong winds. It showed that mountains have to be treated with respect, and it certainly added to the experience.
On our free day, most of us went up the Great Orme on the Victorian tramway and enjoyed the view from the summit, while some brave souls ventured further afield. On our last day we went via the slate quarries to Blaenau Ffestiniog and then on the Ffestiniog Railway, down through delightful wooded country and across the estuary to Porthmadog. I shall remember this holiday with great pleasure. Many thanks to Dot and Judith.

Festive Break 2012
The second 2012 holiday was the Tinsel and Turkey break in November. A group of members had a very enjoyable holiday in the Isle of Wight which included an early celebration of Christmas and a visit to Osborne House with its festive decorations. They had such a good time that many of them booked their places for Ilfracombe in 2013 before they came home. |
