The Gilbert Thompson Memorial Fund (GTMF) ......

The Fund allocates grants.....
....on the basis of a proportion of the total travel/accommodation costs, and all applicants are expected to make a contribution towards the cost. |
Applications are viewed by the Fund's administrators....
..... who allocate the grants. The money used for the grants is the annual interest accrued from donations given to the fund. The amount of money available for grants therefore differs from year to year depending on interest rates. |

.....anyone wishing to travel with Raphael whether as a helper or a sick pilgrim. |
All applications are confidential...
...names are known only to the Fund's administrators. Successful applicants are notified of the grant sum, the grants are sent directly to the treasurer, no money is sent to the applicant. |
The Fund's adminstrators normally meet ....
...to consider applications about June time. Your completed application form should therefore reach us by June 1st at the latest. We cannot guarantee the success of any application received after that date, as it is likely that the funds available for that year will already have been allocated. |

You will be asked for your name, email address, the subject of your enquiry and then asked to go through a simple security procedure. Your email will then be forwarded onto the appropriate person. |
Gilbert Thompson was the first Director...
....of the Raphael Pilgrimage. He worked closely with Leonard Cheshire to create a working pilgrimage able to journey to Lourdes each year. 'Raphael' named after the first Cheshire Home founded in India, was established in 1954 and has successfully achieved its aim of taking sick pilgrims to Lourdes each year. Gilbert died very suddenly just over twenty years ago. The Fund is his continuing memorial. |
