What arrangements did the trustees take ....

... to make themselves aware of the effects of the Charity Commission Act 2006 on The Raphael Pilgrimage (our charity).
K Scahill attended a course on 27th February 2007. The CC website (9) has proven very easy to refer to and has been the source of most of our inquiries. The CC also provides for a telephone inquiries facility, which has been accessed by K Scahill on a number of occasions. (10)

Communication with the Charity Commission

Any discussion and subsequent advice was carried out by telephone. The answer to our enquiries were to be found on the CC website and are easily accessed. It was not considered necessary to seek confirmation in writing. The only correspondence the trustees have received from the CC over the last few years has been the formal documentation to do with the annual returns and other general information. The only correspondence that the trustees have sent to the CC over the last few years has been in completing the annual returns and informing the CC of changes in trustees.

Appointment of trustees: How was this set up .....

....and what steps have been taken since? The Declaration of Trust was drawn up in 2002 and was signed by T Wiltshire, M Logan and M Kelly. This sets out that there should be three trustees (4.2), and that ‘Future Trustees shall be appointed by resolution of all the Trustees for such terms as the Trustees may decide.’(4.5) (11)

(11) The Raphael Pilgrimage Declaration of Trust dated 12th September 2002.
