Children

We are not set up to take sick children to Lourdes on our pilgrimage as a general rule.

We recommend that those interested in taking sick children to Lourdes contact the HCPT.

Over time we have had well children alongside the Pilgrimage, usually offspring of our helpers. What works well is when the main carer and child joins the pilgrimage group when we are out, such as participating in processions, our daily Mass, the end of pilgrimage concert, the day out and picnic, and on the roof area above the hospital.

Family members and friends must supervise their own children, whilst not detracting from their allocated duties and that children should not be on the working ward, that is, not in the hospital ward, where our sick pilgrims are accommodated (in what is known as the Accueil).
