Our newsletter is called Tambuli...
 | ...and our editor is Precy Cayabyab.
Our very young group, the Filipino Community of Oxford is mostly composed of nurses and their families who have come over here over the last five years to live and work in the UK. The group itself was formerly organized in August 2003 with the arrival of Sr. Clare Jo. At the moment, this is a loose group. We haven't
got a set of officers, by-laws and all that
organizational stuff but we do have teams that look after different sets of tasks, such as social activities, finances and our participation in parish activities. FilComOxford is a socio-religious group, based on the RC Church but this doesn't mean those from other denominations are not welcome to join. as long as they are Filipinos residing in Oxford, we are happy to invite them to join. We also have links with the original Oxford Filipino Association, led by those
who have been residing in Oxford for over 10-15 years. Tambuli (Horn)is the official newsletter of the group and we do try to publish an issue every four month a but with my present commitments at work and school, I've only managed to do this bi-annually. We do not have regular writers, mainly relying on contributions from friends. The group supports the publication of the paper financially as well. Anyone can write. I edit, lay-out and write as well. I guess, this brief introduction will do for now. If there are any more that you would like to know, please
e-mail me.
