What is Thematic Trails?

Thematic Trails is an educational charity. It specialises in the publication of walks, guides and landscape companions which encourage the interpretation and appreciation of the environment for the local community, educational groups and interested visitors.
There are a series of trails written about the Oxford area designed to develop such themes as ecology of Oxford, the geology of the building stones, the city architecture, flood control and the story of the city wall.

The latest local venture is a map of the footpaths around Kingston Bagpuize, Southmoor, Longworth and Hinton Waldrist. There are 5 informative booklets to accompany these walks. More detail of the history of the area can be found in the series of three books on three Oxfordshire villages to mark the Millennium. This is part of the Oxfordshire Community Literature Project.
