Background WACNET is a not for profit community based organization (CBO) whose mandate and scope is to assist poor women and children affected by poor health and poverty founded in the year 1999; WACNET was formerly registered in the year 2003 by the government of Kenya. WACNET works in western province of Kenya an area with high mortality rate and poverty
Mission WACNET mission is to empower and promote the well being of poor women and children to realize their full potentials. Vision We envision a society that develops and nurtures poor women and children, one which provides them with the right to survive, develop and participate in decision making and enjoy protection against all forms of discrimination, neglect cruelty and exploitation.
Out Core values
We believe in women and children based programs that are HIV/AIDS and poverty centered, holistic, integrated and impact driven.
We believe in every women and child’s entitlement to equity and justice irrespective of sex, age, color, creed, religion, ability and disability.
We believe in partnerships and recognizes the potentials of other actors in social development willing to work with them in a spirit of collaboration.
We believe in transparency, accountability, proper management and prudent utilization of resources.
Core principles By capacity building we mean provision of needs based opportunities that utilize the best tools and strategies for helping poor people acquire skills, knowledge and grow. By community based approaches. We mean the poor people involvement in identifying, planning, implementing and monitoring of intervention. By rural development. We mean activities that assist poor families and communities to cope with complex challenges e.g. HIV/AIDS and to achieve self sufficiency in their daily lives. By linking available resource and needs. We mean connecting time and resources of caring people and organizations with opportunities to serve people in need next door and around the world. WACNET is committed to providing trustees with projects information on work that fall under respective thematic priorities and updates on projects being funded.
