Wantage Male Voice Choir

Please note our new website: www.wantagemalevoicechoir.org.uk The choir, formed in 1991, performs regularly to help local charities and each year holds its own concert to the local community. It enjoys singing further afield as well, memorable events being at: - Cardiff Arms Park with 200 other choirs forming 8500 male voices at a 'World Choir' concert, later broadcast on BBC Radio 2. - The Atlanta Dome, Georgia for another massed choir event. - Hyde Park for the VE Day Celebratory Concert in 1995. - Swindon's Wyvern Theatre for the National Association of Choirs' annual conference gala concert. - Wells Cathedral, with other guest choirs of Taunton Deane MVC, celebrating the millenium. - The Royal Albert Hall in 2006. We've been privileged to join in the celebratory concerts of Taunton Deane MVC's 50th anniversary, Oxford Welsh MVC's 70th and Bournemouth MVC's 75th, while weekend visits have been enjoyed to S.Wales, as guests of Rhos Cwmtawe Choir and Porthcawl MVC. For our 10th anniversary in 2001, two concerts at Felixstowe and Woodbridge in Suffolk, helped raise £1400 for Macmillan Cancer Relief. The following year, a concert in St John the Baptist Church, Grove, raised over £3000 in support of cataract surgery for Burmese refugees. *** A vacancy exists for a piano accompanist - please see our 'News Items' page.*** The Choir comprises an enthusiastic bunch of singers and welcomes new members!
