Picture Page D:

Welcome to my fourth Picture Page. Some famous faces here, of people who found success in life, starting with this guy:

..

Actor Ian Kelsey, who worked at the 'American Adventure' Theme Park, at the same time as I sang there. Best known for his part as Dave Glover in 'Emmerdale, and later 'Casualty', he was also a great dancer, and loved a laugh. He played 'Danny Zucco in the London stage show of 'Grease'.

..

Debbie Nunn:

I first met Debbie Nunn when she began a couple of seasons at the ‘American Adventure’, in the early 90s; and though I saw a much re-vamped version of her show, I found it to be dazzling and dynamic, with energetic precision. Debbie’s show takes you from the early days of Madonna's No.1 pop hits, through her time as a night club diva, and onwards to her show stopping role in ‘Evita’, and ends with her rebirth as a modern pop icon.

From beginning to end, Debbie painstakingly recreates Madonna to such an exactness that you will go home thinking you had seen the star herself, with 100% live vocals, strong dance routines, and authentic costumes, Debbie fills the stage with excitement as she mimics the world's biggest female pop star.

She is a shining example of what hard work, and talent, can do for even for the small star!

..

You know, I've never been interested in football ,or even cricket at any point in my life. However I have always admired Stanley Mathews for the great sportsman he was, and I once had his autograph, which I later gave away to a true football fan!

..

Stuntman Marc Cass is best known in the United Kingdom for his stunts in '999', a television show featuring true life saving stories, and action demonstrations. (999 in the UK is the universal emergency phone number, like 911 in the U.S.).
Among the sequences he filmed were escaping from a car under water; standing in a kitchen set that became an inferno when water was added to cooking oil; and standing in London Aerospace's wind tunnel and being subjected to 100 mph winds.
His early training days were spent at the 'American Adventure' Theme Park where I first had great pleasure watching some of the great stunts he can perform.

He has more than 100 credits on British TV. His resume includes a number of episodes of Cracker, the British police show that helped make Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid) a star.

Cass has appeared onscreen in a few acting roles, including Saving Private Ryan as "Fallon." He also was a steward searching for Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet in Titanic's cargo hold (which then gets filled with water). He also appeared as a member of a submarine crew in The World is Not Enough.

Among Cass' skills are all sorts of falls, judo and fighting, fencing, snowboarding, scuba diving, driving stunts, gymnastics, motorcycling, horse work, trampolining and gymnastics.

..

This is Wolf, one of the 'Gladiators' that were popular a few years ago. I had the please of some time with him at the 'American Adventure' Theme Park, when I escorted him, with Security to do guest apperances. He is a great guy, and for fifteen minutes he spent time with a girl that was not well; she was a fan of his, and he even gave her his personal phone number to call when so felt ill.

..

Bob Monkhouse - He's gone now, but I never tired of meeting him, he was such a character.....

..

Buzz Aldrin, one of the early NASA space programme astronaughts. He was so ordinary- despite being an American, and what he had done! He gave me a lapel badge, given to him by the President of the United States of America, which I had admired so much at our meeting. No pomp and grace with this guy; real down to earth! (What AM I saying!)

..

Simon Gregson aka Steve McDonald from 'Coronation Street'. He opened the 'AA' Park one season, and for 30 minutes I had to keep him occupied with a hot dog, and a coffee, until the press came on the scene. Later he presented me with an award. (Not for keeping him occupied !!)

..

Chloe Newsom, again from 'Coronation Street', and here in pantomime. She played Alec Gilmore's daughter 'Viki' on 'Corrie', and I met her back in 1993; she was young and new to television, but had a nice friendly personality.

..

This is Wally Wright, who was 'Mr. East Midlands' of 1953.

He lived in Heanor for quite a while, working at Vic Hallam, the factory which specialised in timber buildings at Langley Mill. For years he trained as a body- builder, entering competitions in Nottingham and Derby. He also owned the Social Club, which was behind the 'Empire Cinema', at the top of Fletcher Street. I knew Wally at one time, we were friends, and he worked with my brother.
