What's going on in PMS
WELCOME TO THE PICKERING MUSICAL SOCIETY WEB SITE! PMS put on 3 shows per year - panto in January, Musical in May and the annual War Show in October. We always welcome new members - whether acting, backstage or front of house. (affiliated to NODA)
Pickering Musical Society Spring Show 2010 will be “The Boyfriend” by Sandy Wilson. The show will run from 10-15 May.The action takes place at Madame Dubonnet’s Finishing School on the French Riviera. Polly, an English heiress, falls in love with Tony, a delivery boy. Conscious of her father's warning to beware of boys dating her for her family’s money, Polly pretends to be just a secretary. Things get complicated with the unexpected arrival in Nice of Polly's parents and Lord and Lady Brockhurst. It turns out that Lord and Lady Brockhurst are in fact Tony’s wealthy parents. Polly and Tony have shared the same secret – they both come from wealthy families. However, everyone ends up living happily ever after! The show is to be directed by 21 year old Luke Arnold, a former pupil at Lady Lumley’s school in Pickering. Luke has recently completed a degree on theatre studies at Worcester University and this is his first time directing. He has been a member of the Society for many years, rising through the Youth Theatre Section. He is most often seen on the technical or backstage side of productions, although recently he has been persuaded to “tread the boards” in productions such as “Little Red Riding Hood” and “Jack and the Beanstalk”. Box Office opens 26th April
