Exciting Workshop Opportunity
Would you like to be in at the beginning of an exciting project?
A series of workshops will take place to "road test" an original musical written by local musician Norman Fowler (aka Steve Cassidy) and writer Alan Combes.
"Black Potatoes"
The story is of a family escaping the West of Ireland during the Potato Famine in 1847 and moving to England, via. Dublin, Liverpool and West Yorkshire to the York Area, tracing their story and intermarriage into English society, and climaxing with the death of Freddy Taylor in the 1st World War. (Freddy being the grandson of Fergus and Peigi – the original emigrants)
This project has the backing of the PMS Committee, but participants are not restricted to PMS members. It is expected that rehearsals will be fortnightly (probably Tuesday Evenings 7:15 – 9:15) in participants houses (variable) eventually transferring to the theatre when we are further down the line.
This project is open to children.
The rehearsal venues will be either Pickering, Scarborough or York Area.
Please be aware this is a workshop/process situation. People are not auditioning for any particular part. Anyone will be able to have a go at whichever part they wish.
If you are interested in being involved in this production either as an actor; singer/actor, musician, backstage or venue provider, then please telephone John McGlinchey on (01751) 472320 or email jfm_accountants@hotmail.com
