Juniors excel

Sheriff Hutton Bridge Cricket Club are celebrating after eight juniors were selected to play at County Schools level.

Matthew Fisher (Huby Primary School), Toby Latham (Terrington Hall School), Oliver Leedham (St Olave’s School), George Wainwright (Terrington Hall School) and Charlie Hill (Terrington Hall School) will all be representing North Yorkshire Schools Under-11s.

Matthew Withers (St Olave’s School) has been selected by the U13s,

while the U12s have called up Jonnie Eleanor (Terrington Hall School) and Tom Platt (Easingwold School) has won a call-up to the U14s.

Barrie Speake, the club’s junior cricket secretary and coach, said: “This is an outstanding achievement for the club.”

The club’s junior section trains on Thursday evenings throughout the summer, with 80 youngsters involved in teams at U9s, U11s, U13s and U15s level. They also have an intermediate U17s side.
