The Peaker is the Parish Magazine for the Parish of Old Malton and is published once a month at 35 p. per issue. Copies are usually on sale at the back of the church, or you can take out an annual subscription. A recent venture is to put highlights from it online, but to really know what is going on in the parish you'll need the paper edition!
The name comes from "Peaker", the local name for inhabitants of Old Malton. Apparently local children would climb into trees to "peak" out and keep an eye on local happenings! |
