What services does ASSERT (B&H) provide?
o Twice-monthly social learning group
o Monthly drop-in support group for adults with Asperger syndrome
o Monthly mutual support group for parents and carers of adults with Asperger syndrome. (7.30-9.30pm on the fourth Tuesday of every month except December, in the Snug, Mitre Tavern, 13 Baker Street, Brighton - just off London Road).
o Monthly social events or outings for adults with Asperger syndrome
o Telephone helpline
o Resource library
o Liaison with Statutory services on behalf of individuals with Asperger syndrome
In what ways is Assert raising awareness of Asperger syndrome?
o Working with the Local Authority to raise awareness of Asperger syndrome within their services
o Working within a partnership to develop a local Employment initiative
o Networking with voluntary and community organisations
Any adult interested in furthering the work of the Charity can become a member. Organisations can become members too. All people over 16 with Asperger Syndrome or High Functioning Autism and their Carers resident in Brighton and Hove can call upon the help of Assert. People with Asperger syndrome take an active role in planning its activities. |
