Build on what you' re into

BHV supports and encourages young people to volunteer in their local community. We are part of the new national youth volunteering programme V and are the vinvolved team in Brighton and Hove.

We also support other charities and community groups in developing volunteer policies and procedures that relate to young volunteers.

Aged 16-25 and want to receive nationally recognised certificates on reaching certain milestones within your volunteering?????

There is no long term commitment required from volunteers; young people can volunteer at a taster session for just a few hours, part time, or even full time. We work with almost a hundred groups in Brighton and Hove and so have a diverse range of volunteering opportunities for young people to get involved with. We aim to provide young people with volunteering opportunities that match their passions and interests. Being registered with BHV also means you have access to free training events, and other volunteer opportunities in the city. We have annual celebration events and residential volunteering opportunities.

Volunteer with BHV.........Youth Action Team

The Youth Action Teams is a group of young people aged between 16-25 who champion volunteering locally. Drawn from all walks of life, these ambassadors encourage their peers to volunteer and advise the vinvolved teams and other organisations on youth led community action. They will also have a role in planning activities, developing marketing ideas and event management.

There are many benefits to volunteering, such as, making new friends, gain new skills, make new contacts, learn more about something that you're interested in, increase confidence and have fun!!!!!

We have hundreds of opportunities available or can help to set up a new voluntary project and we support our volunteers throughout their volunteering.
