FGCs come to Brighton and Hove

Daybreak is a charity based in Hampshire, which has several projects in different areas of the South of England. The Brighton and Hove project has been active for just over a year and is lead by the Project Manager, Sheena Cameron. The Brighton and Hove project is funded by the Children's Fund

The aim behind the project is to promote and facilitate Family Group Conferences for families in the city.

The Family Group Conference is an idea that originated in New Zealand and is now starting to take off around the world. It is basically a model for resolving conflict or problems in families, by enlisting the support of a network of extended family and friends, who get together at a FGC meeting to make a plan, which states how they will support the family.
