Welcome to the Friends of Kingston Buci First School website. We are a group of mums and dads who are involved in helping, supporting and raising money for the school. The present committee officers are: Chairman: Kirsty Whittaker Kirsty has a daughter who has been at the school and a son in the nursery class Treasurer: Suzanne Cole Suzanne has a son in year 2 and a daughter in reception class Publicity Officer: Sue Packham Sue has a son who has been to the school and a son in year 2 Secretary: Sue Harris Sue has a daughter and son who have been to the school and a son in nursery class We regularly get together with parents to discuss all sorts of ideas to fund raise for our school. Over the past years the Friends have managed to fund raise in many different ways. These come in the form of Spring and Christmas Fayres, Childrens’ Parties, Quiz nights, Mufti days, raffles, competitions, etc. Everyone is invited to join and have fun. Since 1998 the Friends raised in excess of £4000. This enabled us to supply the school with books, nursery equipment, and new computers. We also try and reach out into the community and raise money for other organisations and charities. In order to carry on this good work we need the help and support of all the parents, and indeed members of the local community who have supported us by attending our events. If you have a child at Kingston Buci and feel you can spare the time to support or even contribute ideas in any way, we would love to hear from you. Come along to one of our meetings and meet all those involved, you will receive a warm welcome. Little ones are welcome too, as recently we have been able to provide a child minding facility. If you cannot make it to the meetings, you can usually find one of the officers on the south playground, before or after school. We also keep everyone up to date with regular newsletters. Reminders and notice of all forthcoming events are pinned on the notice boards. We are looking forward to meeting you soon, after all a good education is the best gift you can give to a child.
