Duke of Edinburgh Award
 | Since 1956,when our Colonel-in Chief introduced his award, the ACF has been the largest operator, helping thousands of cadets reach one of their greatest goals.
It has become an increasingly important feature of their ACF training.
Regular information about it is given to all cadets as they progress through the APC programme, and all are encouraged to volunteer to work simultaneously within D of E.
The Award has something extra to offer our members- cadets and young instructors- between the ages of 14 and 25, and this is best described as public recognition of their skills and talents.
The Award is the recognisable " common currency " into which, with some extra effort on the part of the participant, their achievements can be converted.
The Award includes four categories of practical, cultural and adventurous activities. Almost all of these are cross-related with the ACF.
So whilst you're training for first aid, drill, target shooting and expeditions, you're also working towards your D of E Award. |
