If you are interested in learning how to use sign-language with your pre-verbal baby, come and visit us at Sing and Sign. We regularly run between six and eight classes a week in Eastbourne, for both beginners and advanced signers. All four of us who teach the classes have done Sing and Sign with our own children and have seen the benefits first hand. We all have extensive experience teaching baby signing, and of Makaton and British Sign Language, on which the Sing and Sign curriculum is based. My own two children both had more than thirty signs each before they were a year old, and they both spoke early with a good vocabulary and understanding of how to construct sentences. Using baby signing in this way tends to encourage a child's desire to communicate, and therefore the onset of speech.
Our classes are small, organised groups which run through term time, in a comfortable private home in Old Town in Eastbourne.
