This is a small friendly family campaign group, linked directly to Prof John Hermon - Taylor @ Kings College Hospital, London. ( Previously at St Georges Hospital, London ). Also linked to Crohns ( MAP ) Canada, Crohns Campaign group PARA in Florida - USA, and Alan Procter of Zhitz.com, also here in the UK.
We are here to help Raise Awareness and Funds for the New DNA Crohns Vaccine with the Prof John Hermon - Taylor. This New DNA Crohns Vaccine is formulated now to human strength and going for human trials at a cost of £ 600.000 over the next few years. This is the final step for this new dna vaccine, and once all the testing, trials & red tape, through to licensing are done, it is then sent to manufacture at a cost of £ 1.5 million.
We have helped Raise with our friends & supporters nearly £2 million in private funds, which has got us where we are today in 2008. We have to date had no help from Government, it has all been done on private donations. We have done many press articles, radio interviews and TV appearences over the last 12 years to Raise Awareness and Funds for Crohns. We now need to raise this final sum of £ 600.000 to get us to the stage of manufacture, can you please help ?
We Raise Awareness to the cause of Crohns, a bacteria found in pasteurised & raw milks. The pasteurisation process does NOT get hot enough to kill the Mycobacterium avium sub species Paratuberculosis ( MAP bacteria ). Only boiling your milks & drinking water will kill this MAP bacteria from entering your body. MAP cannot be made by the human body, it has to come from an outside source. MAP is found in nearly all Crohns sufferers, if it is not found at the time of testing, it does not mean it is not in your body, as it is extremely hard to locate, hiding in the white cells in your blood, not even seen by microscope. There is an animal, a cow that suffers in exactly the same way as humans, it's illness is called Johne's Disease, and it can carry the MAP Bacteria, passing this bacteria into the milk & faeces it produces, this faeces then contaminates pastures to other cattle & future herds as it survives a year in all faeces deposited everyday on pastures. It also goes on to infect other animals that may cross this pasture, such as Deer, Sheep, Goats even Rabbitts. Bison, Cotton Top Tamarins and other primates, are all sufferers of IBD.
Other sources of contamination are in water supplies, drinking water supplies, from ground ( pastures ) run off, into rivers, when it rains, filtration does not kill MAP. Some meats that are contaminated, put into the human food chain carry MAP, so cook your meats well. Fluoride, a toxic, fertiliser chemical byproduct, found in toothpastes & mouthwashes, the residues, are a real irritant to IBD & IBS sufferers, actually causing mouth & digestive tract ulcers. We run a friendly help & advice phoneline, sending out lots of info via email, for all IBD & IBS sufferers, their partners or family. Please do not suffer in silence, we are here to help you or your family member. We have discovered over the years, through talking to many sufferers, many with IBD or IBS who are suffering, are kept in ther dark, some deliberately by their doctors or consultants. Some sufferers are kept in the dark because of ignorance by those treating them. Why you may ask ? What have they got to hide ? or what do they gain by doing this ? By keeping the sufferers from knowing about other sources of help, causes of their illness, other outside help available, the sufferer remains totally in their care, often then perscribing one drug after another, some with horrific side effects, and if this does not work, they line you up with a colleague for surgery, sometimes without much consultation or need. Surgery should only be carried out if it is life threatening. The drug companies play a huge part in control of your treatment you get, and it is not in the interest of a doctor or consultant that you look outside their world, or yours, for them a continuous profit making in drug supplies and toxic treatments.
We appreciate that some drugs used, balance the illness, some for only a short time, but rarely lead the sufferer to return to a better quality of life or a return to better health at all, sometimes actually they become a lot worse with more side effects to their original illness.
All we really care about is you, your partner or your family and that you know some or all of the facts you have been or may have been denied to you, over your years of suffering. Telling you what we believe caused your illness and how you can help yourself, what is available to help you, and what is ahead in the near future for your illness. If you wish to help us get to the conclusion, and draw an end to these illnesses, we will tell you how you can help yourself & us to achieve this as well. We really are here to help you, your partner or your family, and there is no charge at all for our help & advice.
