Successful Evening

The presentation Night held at the Ritz on Friday 30th March saw a good turn out of members to celebrate its fishing exploits in the past 12 months and to receive cups and awards in various categories. Richard Pettitt (photo attached) the clubs' Fish Recorder and Cup Custodian, did a sterling job in ensuring that the 40 or so cups went to the right recipient and was ably assisted by the club Chairman Mike Patten. This year has been an exceptional year for the club with some of its members representing their country - Ian McLean has retained his position within the England Boat squad for a fourth year in succession and Mike Patten is keen to make a mark this year. Helen Verrall fishes for the Ladies England Squad in the European Federation of Sea Anglers. Dave Cogger is the National Fire Brigade boat and shore champion and Tony Hiscock is individual winner of the Ministry Of Defence boat championship. We also have the winners of the regional NFSA boat series held in Minehead, the winner of the NFSA regional shore championship and the National Civil Service boat champion. The chairman, secretary, treasurer and boat captain of the Severn Division of the NFSA are all 3B's members. Mention also of Rommie Mennings a junior member of the club who, for the second year, took home a wheelbarrow full of cups leaving senior members in his wake. Our thanks go to the Ritz for their hospitality and good humour and we look forward to another successful year.
