History
Bridgwater Flower Show has been in existence in the town for more than 100 years and despite a decrease in exhibits over the years have maintained a consistently high standard of flowers and vegetables. Every year, our judges, many of whom travel the county on a national judging status, tell us that the quality of our entries is one of the highest in Somerset, a reputation of which we are very proud.
However, it becomes more expensive every year to stage our two-day Show. Although we have been able to cut some costs by printing and publishing our schedules, posters and prize cards "in house", we have introduced rosettes as a means of attracting new, and young, exhibitors and last year paid for the engraving of cups, rather than asking the winners to pay. Our cup collection is surely one of the most outstanding in the town, with over 70 cups and shields, many bearing the names and dates of winners going back to over 50 years.
