Rhode Lane Wanders 2 Bridgwater Wolves 7

This local derby saw Wolves produce a fine team performance to defeat a Rhode Lane side that never gave up. The visitors took an early lead when Michael Duffy-Jones scrambled home Aaron Harbour’s left wing cross. Hard working Wolves midfielder Bradley Kelly then released Harbour to provide another cross for Josh Williams to steer home. Wanderers then failed to capitalise on a spell of pressure and Josh Smith added a third for Wolves. Smith then turned provider, his pass setting up Williams to drive home his second. After the interval, Rhode Lane rallied and reduced the deficit to 4-1, but Wolves responded with Williams netting from close range to complete his hat-trick. Further Wolves pressure saw Matt Holland and Liam Temlett both come close to scoring, while strong defensive performances from Luke Coles and the Warren brothers kept the home side at bay. In the final few minutes Smith and Williams each netted again for Wolves, with Wanderers scoring their second from the penalty spot.
