Bridgwater Wolves v Rhode Lane Wanders
Bridgwater Wolves: 10 Rhode Lane Wanderers: 0 This comprehensive victory saw Wolves complete a league double over their local rivals. Early strikes from Troy Isaac and Aaron Harbour put Wolves in control before Jack Middleton fired home the third from the edge of the area. Middleton’s next effort squeezed through a crowd of players before being touched home by Josh Smith, which was quickly followed by Luke Coles converting Harbour’s cross for number five. A swift exchange of passes with Bradley Kelly then created the opening for Liam Temlett to score. The dangerous Harbour side-stepped a defender to curl home from a narrow angle, then Smith blasted the eighth into the roof of the Wanderers net. The second period saw Rhode Lane mount several attacks through their hard-working midfielder Tom Hillier, but the home defence were well marshalled by Coles and Middleton. Wolves responded by hitting double figures with two late strikes from Josh Williams, including the goal of the day when he spun away from his marker to emphatically shoot into the top corner.
