Westonzoyland Zebras v Bridgwater Wolves
Westonzoyland Zebras 2 v Bridgwater Wolves 5 Wolves placed the hosts under pressure straight from the kick-off with Troy Isaac’s shot well saved by the Zebras keeper. The next attack saw Aaron Harbour brought down in the area resulting in a spot kick, coolly converted by Josh Smith. Josh Williams then provided a pin-point cross for Smith to steer home his second. Zebras responded and reduced the deficit from the penalty spot, but Wolves held firm against further attacks thanks to the efforts of Bradley Warren, Alex Turner and Bradley Kelly. Wolves continued to create openings and before the interval Smith was on hand to poach his third and fourth goals. Three minutes into the second period Liam Temlett’s persistence created the opportunity for him to fire home from a narrow angle. Zebras enjoyed a long spell of pressure but were only able to breach the visitors defence on one more occasion. Wolves deserved their third consecutive league victory, with impressive performances from centre backs Luke Coles and Jack Middleton, plus good displays from the hard working Michael Duffy-Jones and keeper Dean Woodyatt. Wolves Player of the Day: Alex Turner. |
