2006 NEWS
Having secured a Local Community Grant, we have just managed to replace the kayak storage hut at the Breakwater. It is great to finally get this job done and we can now look forward to a busy summer.
The hall is still being redeveloped and our equipment remains in temporary storage (thanks here to the free churches in Brixham for use of the old chapel). We continue to meet at the Methodist Hall and this is proving to be a very successfull meeting place.
We have also recently received the first part of a legacy from the late Mr Reg Houghton. Some of this has already been used to subsidise the activity day at Grenville House. We do also plan to use another large sum to help towards the cost of more activities and possibly a day trip or short residential.

FUND RAISING
We have a coffee morning booked at the Methodist Community Centre in Fore St on Saturday 24th June. This will be in the usual format opening at 10am and closing at 12noon, hopefully we shall have lots of Cubs & Scouts there to help with serving. we shall also need help from parents in the kitchen and loads of cakes to sell! Meet at the centre AT 9.30AM
We are supporting the Torbay Marathon on Sunday 25th June by providing some marshalls. There are five Scouts and there parents helping. |
