ABOUT OUR CLUB
THE CLUB
Formed in 1976 with the aim of furthering the model rail hobby within the Sedgemoor area of Somerset, this still remains the case today. From early beginings in rooms above a shop in Burnham town centre, with a layout that went through the walls and over the stairs, the club has steadly grown in size. The club now has perment rooms of it's own and organises an open day in May, and also "SEDGEMOOR RAIL" a 2 day Exhibition on August Bank Holiday weekend. In November is the North Petherton Show.
Apart from the club layouts, several members also have their own layouts, all members are welcome to assist with the development and operation of these. Although the main interest of the club has been GWR steam, there are also MODERN IMAGE layouts. Guages O, OO and N are being built at the moment.
LAYOUTS
The club has a number of varied layouts avaliable for display at exhibitions. The club would welcome enquiries or invites from Exhibition Managers, for layouts for their shows.
