Sensei Mark Brimacombe 3rd Dan (Sandan)
Started training in the mid-eighties with a group of work colleagues at Devonport SKC. I was taught karate by my Sensei, Colin Putt. My first two gradings were with Enoeda Sensei and the rest of my kyu gradings were with Ohta Sensei. Achieved Shodan 13.3.93, I was graded by Enoeda Sensei and Ohta Sensei. Achieved Nidan 20.7.97, I was graded by a technical panel from the F.B.S.K.U.(i) Despite a two and a half year break 2002-2005.I am back into full flight training. I have had a lot of experience in competition and training on courses with top karate Sensei. I have met a lot of good people and visited nice places during my training. | |

Emily Nutbean 1st Dan(Shodan)
 | I started training in March 2003, since then I have been fortunate enough to have trained with many of the U.K’s most senior Senseis and I have also trained under visiting Senseis from Japan including Sensei Dave Hooper who lives and works in Japan. I also get the opportunity to do a lot of training outside of club sessions, as we are lucky enough to have a purpose built and fully equipped Dojo at the rear of our house. My favourite waza is Mawashi Geri and my favourite kata is Bassai Dai. I have had many successes in competitions in the U.K as well as overseas and I was a member of the F.B.S.K.U.I England Squad that took part in the 13th SKDUN Gichin Funakoshi World Shotokan Karate Championships held in Leipzig, Germany, in October 2005, and I was a squad member again in October 2007 when the championships were held in Chisinau, Moldova. I was awarded my Shodan by the F.B.S.K.U.I Tecchnical Panel-(Sensei Gerry Breeze, Sensei Colin putt, and Sensei Mark Carroll) on the 4th November 2007 at the association’s Gashuku held at St.Ives in Cornwall. |

 | My first Karate training session was back in March 2003, I have been fortunate to train with many of the world’s top Senseis. I have been lucky enough to train with some of Japans most senior instructors when they have visited the U.K, including Sensei Osaka, Omura, Abe and Nakata, and Sensei Dave Hooper. I have also been able to train with the U.K’s top instructors such as Senseis Andy Sherry, Bob Poynton, Bob Rhodes, Elwyn Hall and Owen Murray to name a few. I am also able to spend a lot of time training while at home as we have a purpose built Dojo at our house. I enjoy the excitement of competition and I have had a lot of success in the U.K as well as abroad and I was proud to be a member of the F.B.S.K.U.I England Squad that took part in the 13th SKDUN Gichin Funakoshi World Shotokan Karate Championships held in Leipzig, Germany, in October 2005, and I was also a squad member again in October 2007 when the championships were held in Chisinau, Moldova. I was awarded my Shodan on June 4th 2008 by the FBSKUI Technical Committee at the Special All Grades Course and Grading held in Plymouth. My favourite Kata is Heian Sandan and Bassai Dai. I am looking forward to a forthcoming family holiday which is going to take us to Japan, where we will be training at the Honbu Dojo in Tokyo. |
