CD of Register Transcriptions Approved
At a meeting held on 29th May approval was given for the Transcription of the Registers in order to compile the CD. Transcription has now commenced and over 1000 entries from the first register have been transcribed. The transcriptions are being entered into a spreadsheet, which means that subscribers will be able to sort on SURNAME if they so wish. We would appreciate comments on this as we have asked a few people and the comments have not been very enlightening. We have never attempted anything like this before, so any suggestions we can consider would be very much appreciated. Incidentally, the first three registers, spanning 1851 to 1960 contain over 6000 entries. We are also considering adding a few photographs which could be linked to the entries in the register, or stand alone. What do people think? Please use the Guestbook and/or the Message Board (register, it will cost you nothing) and give us your views, - PLEASE.
