Small Entry but Big Success

It was Bath Golf Club who hosted the Somerset Golf Captains Autumn Meeting this year and although the numbers were thin on the ground for various reasons the meeting was attended by over 50 Past and Present Club Captains. I was among those unable to attend so this report is a somewhat scant review taken from some of the feedback I have received so I do apologise to those Captains who featured and have not been recognised in this report.If you have a photo or two taken on the day then please send them on to me in jpeg format and I will include them on this page later. The above photo is of the winning pair on the day, Ben Gliddon of Minehead & West Somerset G.C. and Martin Rotheram of Taunton & Pickeridge G.C. who scored 43 points. Runners up were John Chillington, Wells G.C. and partner Max Putnam, Taunton & Pickeridge G.C. with 40 points. Simon Calvert-Jones, Bath G.C. and Peter Clements, Minehead & W.S.G.C. were in third place on 39 points. Martin Rotheram also won the Griffith Cup, with an aggregate total of 79 points over the Spring and Autumn Meeting. My congratulations to you all.
