Oxford Captains Give Somerset Captains the Blues.
 | SOMERSET GOLF CAPTAINS V OXFORD GOLF CAPTAINS
BADGEMOOR PARK GOLF CLUB OXFORDSHIRE played host for this match and the course as in excellent condition and proving that a course does not have to be long to be a good challenge of golf for all handicaps. The course off of white tees is 6129 yards, with four par three’s the shortest being 176 yards and the longest 223 yards.
The hospitality, as usual, was out of this world and the Somerset Captains were given a warm welcome to the club by Theo Ziffo the President of the Club and Match Secretary for the day.
The weather was changeable through out the afternoon, we had warm sunshine , a couple of heavy showers, hail stones and the odd windy squall.
Some fine wine and a superb meal rounded off a fine day with tremendous company and camaraderie, Theo Ziffo proposed the loyal toast . Roger Sillence made mention that it was the first win for Oxford for five years, so the win was over due.
Both Captains thanked the Badgemoor Park Golf Club and all the Staff for their service and hospitality, the work put in by the Secretaries was also acknowledged and everybody was looking forward to next years fixture.
