 | Clevedon Golf Club kindly hosted this match between Somerset Golf Captains and Worcestershire Golf Captains and they looked after us all very well indeed. This was the eighth meeting between the two County teams and the competition has always been keen but friendly and long may that continue.
This was certainly a game of two halves with the visitors winning the first four games and Somerset coming back to win the last four games to earn a deserved halved match.

The Captains Party
 | | Captain of Somerset Captains, John Chillington with Club Captain, Brian Cherry, started the match off but not in quite the way it was expected as they went down to Terry Stacey and Colin Benton. |

Match 2
 | | Roger Gazzard and Richard Birch were unable to stop the rot and they also lost to Ray Kings and Colin Day. |

 | | George Davies and Ben Gliddon booked another loss for the Somerset Captains against Martin Wilde and Stuart Denyer. |

 | | Les Kew and Trevor John faired no better when they succumbed to the Worcestershire pairing of Brian Stocker and John Bevan. |

 | | Tommy Atkins and Murray Parsons kick started the comeback for Somerset captains with a win over Brian Peplow and John Duval. |

 | | Graham Load and Paul Binding added a win for the home team by beating Michael Fowle and Mark Dewey. |

 | | Mike Dawson and Bob Smith kept the game alive with a fine win over John Jordan and Ken Bowyer. |

 | | Brian Reeves, Secretary, and Eric Loxton squared the match when the beat Roger Smith and Roger Downing. |
