Somerset Level The Scores
 | It was Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club who hosted this re-arranged home match for Somerset Captains against Wiltshire Captains on Wednesday 29th August and what a fine day both sides were treated to as the sun shone, the course was in excellent condition, the golf was keenly contested and the host Club laid on a splendid selection of food with first class service. We thank you Taunton & Pickeridge for your contribution towards the success of the day.
Somerset managed to win back the trophy that was kindly donated some years ago by Dermot McHugh, a member of Taunton & Pickeridge who also played in this match and was among the Somerset winners.
Apart from the first two matches that went comfortably to the home side there was very little in it for the remaining six ties. The final result was Somerset 4½ - 3½ Wiltshire. This was the 38th Annual Meeting between the two County Captains teams and the overall result now stands at 17 wins each with 4 matches halved.
Below is a selection of photographs that were taken on the day and I trust you will find some of them of interest to you.
My apologies for the lack of match reports but energies have been diverted in other directions recently so feedback was sensibly not forwarded.
