Tournaments 2005

Every year members play off tournaments and trophies are awarded at the annual barbecue held in July.
Sometimes it is difficult to get members to play off in the initial heats because the keen ones enter for all the tournaments.
Usually there is Pool, Darts, Table Tennis and Dominoes.
At last all the members who put their names down have played the first round of Dominoes and there are six members who won the first six heats to play in the semi-finals these are Valerie Cox, Christine Field, Michael Carlisle, Stuart Robinson, Rowena Soames and Paul Unitt.
Valerie and Christine played on 24th February - Valerie, being the winner, will play in the final. Michael Carlisle has beaten Stuart and Rowena beat Paul so now we are waiting for the three finalists to play the final games. These three have now managed to play the final - the winner being Rowena, with Valerie second and Michael third.......
All the Darts heats have been completed with - Mark Bignall, Phillip Dyer, John Hathaway, Paul Rouse, Stuart Robinson and Robin Mead poised for the semi-finals. Two pairs of the semi-finalists have now played - leaving Paul and Stuart to play to decide which of them will play in the final. The final darts was played on 12th May so the darts winners are - 1st Philip Dyer 2nd John Hathaway and third was Stuart Robinson.
The Club has bought a croquet set with money kindly donated from the sale of Highbridge History books so weather permitting we hope to get outdoors and enjoy a new game.
The Table Tennis tournament is well underway under Shirley's eagle eye.
