British Wadokai Southwest is a friendly traditional Wado-Ryu karate organisation with clubs providing training in fitness, self-defence, and self-improvement in the South West of England. British Wadokai was formed under the direction of Gary Swift 7th Dan.

Official Wadokai Southwest Website: www.wadokai-southwest.co.uk
All are welcome: men & women and boys & girls (minimum age 11 Beginners, 8 Intermediate/Advanced). Parents are invited to train with their children. The benefits of Karate training include:

Self discipline
Coordination & concentration
Focus of mind and body
Respect for self and others
Improved health & fitness
Self-defence & confidence

Our licence and tuition costs are very affordable. If you are not sure whether Karate is for you then why not come along for a couple of classes to try?

British Wadokai Southwest's Affiliations
Wadokai Southwest
is part of British Wadokai, which has foundations established in 1976, and is affiliated to the British Wado Federation (a.k.a. Eikoku Wado Renmei) and International Wado Federation (see links page).

The British Wado Federation is the only Wado Governing Body in the UK that accepts and supports fully independent & autonomous membership.

As a member of Wadokai Southwest you are automatically affiliated to British Wadokai, the British Wado Federation and the International Wado Federation. This provides the opportunity to attend specialist training courses held by highly respected instructors and enter many competitions if you wish to compete.
For the most able and committed there is the chance to join the British Wado Federation Kata and Kumite Squads and represent British Wadokai. Ultimately, for the very best (from the age of 8), we provide a training path where you could represent England throughout the world.
