VALE OF GLAMORGAN BRASS BAND
The Vale of Glamorgan Brass Band was set up in 1976 in order to lead the Barry town carnival. After the carnival, the band continued to operate and now has regular booking for various concerts at a veriety of places. The band recently took up residence in property owned by the Barry Athletic Club. It meets on most Mondays from 7.30pm til 9.30pm for rehearsal in a recently refurbished dedicated building.
Experienced players and potential players are always welcome in our main band.
How much will it cost?
The band is a self funding organisation; in order to cover running costs the following is payable by all members:
Main band = £20 per quarter

Training Band
The training band caters for people of all ages who wish to learn to play a brass instrument or percussion. If you have never played before or have only recently started, this is for you! Instruments and music are provided. Practice times are generally 6.46pm til 7.25pm each Monday in term time. Once players reach an adequate standard they progress to the main band.
Interested in Learning?
The band prides itself in being open to all people regardless of musical ability. People are not auditioned to joind the band but will be ecouraged to progress musically. The band aims to educate people in the value of teamwork and to understand how their contribution benefits the band as a whole.
How much will it cost?
The band is a self funding organisation; in order to cover runing costs the following will be payable by all members
Learning band = 50p per week
The band is currently taken by Dave Weston, who has over 25 years of playing with brass bands.
