Caldicot Town U-9 : 2 v 3 : Goytre AFC U-9

On a chilly but warmingly sunny day, the Goytre team travelled to the distant fields of Caldicot. Having been narrowly defeated the previous week by arch rivals Usk Town, Goytre were keen to make amends.
However all was not well when two early goals [one being a dubvious goal-line scramble adjuged over the line by the russian linesman] left Goytre starring at defeat.
Goytre did regain control and gained a goal shortly before the half time whistle.
Into the second half the away side battled well and deservedly drew level following some good battling in midfield.
Eventually, Goytre stole the show with a winner in the dying moments, although, as normal the referee played extra time looking for the equaliser but it was to no avail.
Goytre ran out 3-2 victors.
As normal the Goytre supporters barracked the referee, with Pete's dad winning the referee abuser award this week.
