local volunteers needed

None of us likes the thought of our loved ones going into hospital, but sometimes this happens and we know the pressures and anxieties of what that means.
We at Radio BGM know, that what most of us need when we are in hospital is contact, even if it is only the radio. It helps to take our minds off things for a while, and, if we want to, interact with the people at the radio station.
Radio BGM has given many years of dedicated radio programmes to the Prince Phillip Hospital in Llanelli. Our aim is to produce high quality radio for the patients and staff at the hospital and, as we now have radio automation in place, we can generate programs 24 hours a day. This at least will put us on a level with the other radio stations available on the existing system.
Our continuing objectives are:-

To produce high quality radio programmes for the patients of Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli.
To help with the personal development and the feeling of community spirit of youngsters, by training them in the art of radio broadcasting. This is a new initiative which we are in the process of implementing.
We also take part in, and organise, many local events in the community, to help raise funds to keep the station running. This year we hope to go to as many events as possible with the help of our volunteers at BGM. The station is run entirely by volunteers: unpaid, dedicated people who are willing to give up many hours of their time for the radio station. These volunteers are an established and integral part of the work of BGM. Inviting people from the community into our organisaton ensures that we have the community's support and input into our activities. Volunteering provides benefits which are above and beyond those supplied by statutory services, and which improve the quality of peoples' lives. Without involvement of volunteers in this organisation we would not be able to provide the range of services and activities.
We, as a voluntary organisation, rely heavily on sponsorship and donation. We do have some regular sponsors but are always in need of more, and would, therefore, be very grateful if you would be willing either to sponsor Radio BGM, or to make a donation. If you were able to contribute in any way you would be helping to keep the radio station running, and with the wellbeing of the patients of Prince Phillip Hospital.
