Youlbury - 2000
Youlbury International Scout Camp, near Oxford, was the site of the troup's Summer Camp held in August last year.
The Scouts were able to participate in many of the activities carried out at the site as well as visiting Didcot Railway Centre. Here they could ride on the steam driven trains and climb over the ones in the repair shed. Many of the boys had not seen a steam engine in 'full flight'.
Activities at the camp included: shooting with air rifles, archery in the purpose built archery range, climbing & abseiling on the climbing tower, as well as cooling off (scouts and leaders) in the Swimming Pool.
The giant push ball games - Scouts v Brownies caused many laughs especially as the Brownies won!
The boys also completed pioneering and patrol challenges during the week.
They met many new friends and had a really good experience.
A good time was had by all. | |
