A win v Beanacre 2nds - away. 4th May 2002.
Beanacre batted first. Most notable batsmen were R. Veacock (46) and D. Lewis (29), who were the only players that got into double figures on the way to a score of 125 all out.
Best bowlers were Kevin Ryalls with figures of 4 for 35 off 13.2 overs and Adam Croutear and Richard Holman with 2 for 33 off 8 and 2 for 30 off 8 respectively.
All Cannings then batted and opener Richard Sykes was soon into his stride, before being caught for 34.
Richard Holman (27) and Adam Croutear (18) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures. However, we reached the total with only 6 wickets down, in only 23 overs.
Best bowling for Beanacre was T. McMullen with 3 for 91 off 12 overs.

A win v Nationwide 2nds - home. 11th May 2002.
All Cannings batted first and reached a creditable 176 for 7 off their 45 overs, against the team that was also promoted with us last year - having come first.
Best batting was Adam Croutear (42, and still under 14 years of age), Richard Holman (38), Gary Hiscock (29 not out) and Richard Sykes (20) who was out stumped whilst awaiting a decision on an LBW appeal!
The wickets were shared (2 each) between Trewhella, Pilkington and Perkins.
Nationwide then stumbled with Paul Hiscock removing both openers in his second and fifth over. However a recovery by F. Roofe (47) and I. Vardon (23) steady the ship.
When these two were both dismissed by leg spinner Kevin Ryalls, nobody else reached double figures and Nationwide were all out for 105 in only 31 overs.
Best bowling was Kevin Ryalls, 5 for 25 off 9 overs and Keith Bills with 2 for 24 off 6 overs. |
A loss v Westinghouse - Away. 18th May 2002
Westinghouse batted first and were soon in trouble, with both openers out early on. T. Francis (83) and J. Woodman (42) were the best scores, with M. Day making 21.
Best bowling was Paul Hiscock with 4 for 36 off 10.2 overs. Andrew Legg took 3 wicketes and Kevin Ryalls took two. However, it was disappointing that 13 wides were bowled.
Their innings ended on 195 all out, after 43 overs.
In All Cannings's innings Andrew Legg was caught in the 5th over, having only scored 4. Richard Sykes (66 not out) and Richard Holman (60) steadied the batting. The only other batsman to reach double figures was Garry Hiscock (10).
Best bowling was S. Day, with 2 wickets for 27, off 15 overs - 7 of which were maidens!
All Cannings batted for all their 45 overs, but only managed to make 168 runs.

A loss v Dauntsey Gentlemen - home. 25th May 2002
Dauntsey batted first and scored 125 all out, in 43.3 overs. Notable batsmen was N. Baldwin and A. Baldwin both scoring 27. Best bowling was Adrian Goodall with 13.3-5-16-6.
All Cannings responded with a very poor 76 all out, with Andrew Legg and Adam Croutear both scoring 21. Best bowling was A. Baldwin 15-5-30-4.

A win v Bath Civil Service 2nds - away. 8th June 2002
All Cannings batted first and scored 193 for 9 in 44 overs. Notable batsmen were Richard Holman (95), Graham Mansell (37) and Keith Bills (25 n.o).
Notable bowler was Purchase with 14-0-44-5.
Bath Civil Service replied with only 69, all out, in 28 overs.
Notable bowlers were Kevin Ryalls, 14.2-4-33-5 and Richard Holman 5-0-11-2.

A loss v Trowbridge A - home. 15th June 2002
All Cannings batted and ammassed a very poor 64. There were no notable batting scores! Extras topped scored with 16.
Best bowlers were Soloman 15-5-24-4 and S. Chalk 15-3-19-2.
Trowbridge passed our total in only the 22nd over, with 5 wickets down.
Best bowler was Adrian Goodall with 10-3-27-3.

A loss v Wootton Bassett 3rds - home. 22nd June 2002
Wootton Bassett opened the batting and scored 235 in all the 45 overs, for only 5 wickets down. Notable batting was D. Ponting (63), J. Millington (40) and D. Griffin (38).
Best bowling was Paul Hiscock 8-0-29-2 and Grahm Mansell 7-0-36-2.
All Cannings chased hard but against tight bowling and only achieved 154 in the 45 overs, for the loss of 5 wickets.
Notable batting was Richard Sykes (60 n.o.), Andrew Holman (26) and Graham Mansell (25).
Best bowling was C. Stevens with 15-4-32-3.

A win v Potterne 2nds - away. 29th June 2002.
All Cannings batted first and achieved a huge 308 for 3, off 45 overs.
Richard Holman scored a career best 190, Graham Mansell (39) and Adam Croutear (20 n.o.) ably assisted Richard.
Not alot to say about the bowling, apart from opener K. Gover had 15-3-51-0.
Potterne tried in vain to get such a huge total and reached 214 in their 45 overs, for no wickets.
Jamie Bayes scored 102 retired, B. Baker (55 n.o.) were the notable batsmen.
