Acorn - Westbury M.S. support group
I was diagnosed 16 years ago, for the last 10 years I have been confined to a wheel chair with progressive loss of movement in 3 of my limbs. My life took a change when I decided “to hell with what I cant do let’s concentrate on what I can”. I also am very aware that im not that special that I shouldn’t have MS, Sometimes it was frustrating with the lack of any available treatment except pain killers.. In the beginning perhaps MS and the symptoms were not as recognised as they are today, having been told by a doctor to go away and let him get on with treating sick people! when I knew something was wrong…….. Until I went to see my new doctor and after reciting my symptoms, after which he said I think you should see a neurologist…..wow I thought he listened!! Thank you Dr Powell. If I experienced these kinds of frustrations in the past then perhaps someone is having the same feelings now and if I can help eliminate any fears within this group then Im sure it will help. |
