BISHOPDOWN FARM YOUTH CLUB

Young people aged between 11 and 17 are welcome to join the Youth Club from the surrounding area.

We meet every Friday during term time from 7 to 9pm at Hampton Park Pavilion, Hampton Park.

The Youth Club is always on the look out for enthusiastic volunteers to come and help on an occasional basis. If you feel you would like to get more involved with working with young people please contact Tom Boxall, Youth Worker CRB checks can be arranged.

So come and join this thriving Youth Club!

Check the events calendar for further information.

The Youth Club receives support from the Laverstock & Ford Parish Council and Wiltshire Council.

The youth club will be offering lots of activities: sport, pool, table tennis, badminton, indoor tennis, hockey, football, jewellery making/craft activities, hair and nail beauty. We try and offer activities that will appeal to both girls and boys, but for sure the most popular activity will be the new Wii play station with sports software & dancemat that will appeal to all.

AVON TYRELL ACTIVITIES WEEKEND

Avon Tyrell Activities Weekend

Friday 25th to Sunday 27th September 2009

Bishopdown Farm Youth Club members had an exciting action-packed weekend at the Avon Tyrell Activities Centre in the New Forest. Activities included canoeing, mountain biking, Adventure Challenge assault course and swimming. Giant Chess and board games were also on offer as well as a chance to ‘bogie on down’ at the Saturday night disco! The weekend was funded by a grant from Wiltshire Young People Opportunity Fund (WYPOF) to whom we are extremely grateful. It was great to see how the young people really challenged themselves and developed new skills and gained self-confidence. Lots of fun was had by all with great memories to take home!

JONATHAN THE JESTER

Jonathan the Jester teaches Circus Skills

Members of the Bishopdown Farm Youth Club were recently treated to an evening of Circus entertainment. Local children’s artiste, Jonathan the Jester visited the Youth Club to teach the young people a variety of circus skills. These included tight-rope walking, unicycling, juggling, spinning plates, Diablo spinning and walking on stilts! A great time was had by all - in fact Jonathan the Jester was so popular, the kids are keen to have him back for a Christmas special!

Jonathan the Jester does a variety of circus packages including children’s parties and circus workshop. www.tabletopcircus.co.uk

JONATHAN will be back at the Youth Club on Friday 29 January 2010 to hold another Circus Workshop
