Brief History of the Lions of Calne
The Club was formed on the 12th of June 1972, we had 20 all male members and held our first Charter in November of the same year which was presided over by our first President Lion R A G Dennis, time has moved on and in November 2002 our first Lady President presided over the 30th Charter Anniversary, we are now a mixed gender club with 25 members of all ages and accept members from all walks of life.
We are part of the largest service organisation in the world "The Association of Lions Clubs International" and we meet at 8pm on the first tuesday of each month.
We are a very friendly organisation and enjoy a good social life as well as an active life in service of others who have a greater need than ourselves, we are "Ordinary People doing Amazing Things" and our motto is "We Serve" |
